Upon entering Kopitiam, you'll be enveloped by an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and inviting. The old-school décor evokes the charm of Malaysia's bustling hawker markets, creating a warm setting that resonates with both locals and those craving a taste of home.
The menu is a glorious homage to Malaysian cuisine, with standout dishes that have captured the hearts—and appetites—of many. Start your culinary journey with the famed Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Wings (£8.90), celebrated for their mouth-watering crunch, rich flavor, and perfect seasoning. Each wing is a testament to the love that goes into the cooking here. As Tarania Suresh shared, the "Teh Tarik" served alongside these wings is the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess that transports you back to cherished memories.

- Nasi Lemak not only captures the essence of a classic dish but also impresses with its crispy chicken and well-crafted sambal, making it a must-try.
- No meal is complete without indulging in the aromatic Char Kuey Teow, bursting with wok hei, seafood, and a medley of flavors that leave diners asking for more.
Each dish tells a story, and as you delve into the Assam Seafood Pot (£18.50) or the Curry Fish Collar Pot (£18.50), you’ll find yourself enjoying the subtle spiciness and tanginess that define Malay cuisine. These clay pot offerings are more than just meals; they're experiences that convey the heart of Malaysian food culture.
Customers rave about the warm, friendly service that complements the delicious food. As Matthew Hall notes, Kopitiam stands out as a haven for those looking to explore traditional Malaysian flavors, with unique offerings such as Ice Kacang that invite you to try something new.
Don’t forget to conclude your meal with one of their exquisite desserts—seasonal options like Cendol and ABC are frequently highlighted by patrons as the perfect sweet finale. Just remember, this gem operates on a cash-only basis, but the nearby cash withdrawal option makes it a breeze.
Whether you're a native Malaysian seeking a taste of nostalgia or a curious foodie eager to explore new flavors, Kopitiam promises an unforgettable dining experience marked by authenticity, passion, and a vibrant sense of community. Review by a True Malaysian: The atmosphere has an old-school kopitiam vibe, giving it a nostalgic touch. But the real star? The food it deserves all the love! We started with Teh Tarik, and from the very first sip, perghh! The perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess instantly brought back the taste of home. Next was the Nasi Lemak. The sambal was decent, the chicken crispy, and the telur goreng had that classic, comforting touch. Then came the Char Kuey Teow one word: PERGHH! The wok hei, the char, the flavour, the seafood, simply sedap! My husband and I truly enjoyed our dinner here.

We were craving Malaysian food and this place was recommended to us. We were so happy that it was because it was well worth the trip. The Salted Egg Chicken Wings were highlight off the meal. So much flavour and really rich. Unfortunately they had sold out of the Cendol dessert but I did get to try the Ice Kacang. I am not sure that it would be for everyone but I really enjoyed it. Try something new!

Easily the best Malaysian Restaurant in the UK! It really is like eating in a Kopitiam in Malaysia Highly recommend the Char Kiey Teow, Rojak and Salted Egg dishes. Staff are friendly.

Such amazing food! Everything was delicious including the coffee and fresh juice (mint and lime was a revelation). The salted egg yolk chicken wings cannot be missed.

Every time I’ve had Malaysian food in the UK, it’s been far from authentic, until I found Kopitiam. One sip of the white kopi and a bite of the kaya toast instantly brought back fond memories of Singapore’s hawker markets. The nasi lemak is spot-on, though the deep-fried chicken leg was slightly overcooked. They accept cash only, but it’s not a hassle, as there’s a Tesco Express with cash withdrawal just five minutes away. I’ll definitely be back, highly recommended!

First visit and will definitely be returning. I went for the beef rendang with rice ( beautifully fragranced) my partner went for a seafood broth , can't remember what it was called. ..and the salt & egg chicken wings are out of this world

Flavourful Malaysian dishes. The salted egg yolk chicken wings were bomb - hot and crispy, straight out of the kitchen. Nasi Lemak was also rich in flavour, with just the right level of spice. Friendly service. Note that they only accept cash.

Very authentic malaysian food. Non halal. Has seafood and vegetarian options. Desserts and drinks were fab! ABC and cendol (seasonal) the best we have ever had!
